What an invoice in Ireland shows.

  • The date it is issued, and a number in a sequence
  • Your full name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s full name and address
  • What was supplied, how much of it, and the date it was supplied
  • The price of each line before VAT, and any discount
  • The VAT rate on each line, and the VAT at each rate
  • Under the reverse charge, the sentence that says so and your customer’s VAT number, with no VAT charged

For roofing.

  • Roofing supplied and fitted is at the reduced rate of 13.5%. Slates, tiles and timber sold without fitting are at the standard rate of 23%.
  • Roof repairs for a principal contractor are under RCT, and a contract for maintenance only is not.
