Tree surgery in Ireland

Every felling, crown and stump, quoted and paid.

In Ireland, felling a tree needs a licence from the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine unless the Forestry Act 2014 exempts it.

Felling quotes, the stump as an extra.

Stump grinding and taking the logs away can each be an Optional extra on a felling quote. Your customer picks the grinding, the logs or both, then accepts by typing their name and paying any deposit by card.

Your RAMS, acknowledged before the felling.

Add a RAMS files the method statement once for every felling job. The acknowledgement takes the day’s hazards and controls with a signature, and can hold the felling until it is signed or waived.

The power line and the trees, on file.

Each site keeps its Hazards, such as a power line over the garden, and every job there shows them. Photos of the trees filed with Add photos on the site stay with the address after the job is done.

The green waste receipt, on the job.

A green waste receipt, with its photo, goes on the visit under Mileage and receipts. It counts in the job’s cost and never reaches the customer’s invoice.

13.5% on tree work, 23% on timber.

Revenue puts tree surgery, felling and hedge trimming at 13.5%, and logs sold as fuel too. Other wood is 23%. Timber sold to a householder can go on its own Separate, standard rate line from a VAT-registered firm.

Questions, answered.

Does it check whether a felling licence is needed?
No. Nothing looks up a felling licence or a tree preservation order. Under the Forestry Act 2014, a tree in an urban area, or within 30 metres of a building older than the tree, needs no felling licence. Under Your own fields, a Job field can hold the licence number.
Can a climber and a groundsman be booked as one team?
Yes. Add another person puts the groundsman on the climber’s appointment, each in a lane of their own on the Schedule. Moved to another day or time, the appointment takes both of them with it.
Can customers send photos of the tree with an enquiry?
No. The enquiry form on your website takes the work in words, contact details and the address, with no photos. Make a quote on an enquiry starts a quote at that address, with the customer’s own words as its summary.
