- Until 31 March 2027, fitting a boiler designed to burn only wood in a home is zero rated as an energy-saving material. VAT Notice 708/6 keeps a stand-alone wood-burning stove out of that relief.
- A stove installation is usually quoted as the stove, a flue liner or twin-wall flue, the register plate, the hearth, and the fitting and commissioning.
- In England, Approved Document J asks for a carbon monoxide alarm in the room where a new or replacement stove is fitted in a home, whether it burns solid fuel, gas or oil.
