HETAS advises sweeping at least twice a year when burning wood or house coal, and once a year for smokeless fuel. A sweep can repeat Every 6 months, and the chimney’s service-due email waits while one is booked.

Built in Sheets from choices, readings, photos and a signature. Signed off against a chimney, it sets the next sweep a year from that day.
Every stove and flue on record.
Each stove holds its fuel, its output in kW and whether it has a back boiler. Each chimney holds whether it is lined and its flue size.
Your sweep price, filled in.
In Work types, a sweep can carry a Fixed price. A job or a quote opened for a sweep starts with that price. A later change leaves anything already quoted or opened as it was.

- Does it register stove installs with HETAS?
- No. Nothing is sent to HETAS or to building control.
- What VAT rate goes on a chimney sweep?
- 20%, the standard rate, once you are registered for VAT. Quotes and invoices put 20% on each line left as Part of the supply.
- Can a sweep date be moved to the autumn?
- Yes. Change the date on the chimney moves its next sweep. The service-due email follows the new date.
