What an invoice in the United Kingdom shows.

  • A unique number that follows on from the last
  • The time of supply, and the date it is issued if different
  • Your name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s name and address
  • A description of each item, its quantity, its price before VAT and its VAT rate
  • The total before VAT, any discount, and the total VAT
  • Under the domestic reverse charge, that it applies and the VAT your customer accounts for

For drainage.

  • Taking in, treating or disposing of a septic tank’s contents is zero rated, for an industrial customer too.
  • Emptying a farm’s septic tank is zero rated, since farming is not among the industrial activities that make the emptying 20%.
