What an invoice in the United Kingdom shows.

  • A unique number that follows on from the last
  • The time of supply, and the date it is issued if different
  • Your name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s name and address
  • A description of each item, its quantity, its price before VAT and its VAT rate
  • The total before VAT, any discount, and the total VAT
  • Under the domestic reverse charge, that it applies and the VAT your customer accounts for

For locksmith.

  • Lock repairs and lock changes in an existing home are normally standard rated at 20%.
  • Fitting locks on their own, and replacing locks new for old, are outside CIS. A lock change that needs the door, frame or surrounding surfaces repaired or modified is inside it.
