What an invoice in Ireland shows.

  • The date it is issued, and a number in a sequence
  • Your full name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s full name and address
  • What was supplied, how much of it, and the date it was supplied
  • The price of each line before VAT, and any discount
  • The VAT rate on each line, and the VAT at each rate
  • Under the reverse charge, the sentence that says so and your customer’s VAT number, with no VAT charged

For stoves and chimneys.

  • Once you are registered for VAT, a sweep is 13.5% at a home or a pub alike. Revenue regards chimney cleaning in homes and other buildings as routine cleaning of the building.
  • For a principal contractor, relining or rebuilding a chimney is RCT work, as a repair or alteration of the building. Sweeping one is routine cleaning, outside RCT.

Sent from the office, paid online.

Invoices go out by email in your business’s name with the PDF. They are paid by card or bank transfer, and overdue ones are chased.
