What an invoice in Ireland shows.

  • The date it is issued, and a number in a sequence
  • Your full name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s full name and address
  • What was supplied, how much of it, and the date it was supplied
  • The price of each line before VAT, and any discount
  • The VAT rate on each line, and the VAT at each rate
  • Under the reverse charge, the sentence that says so and your customer’s VAT number, with no VAT charged

For electrical.

  • Revenue puts an electrician’s work on fixtures at 13.5%. Wiring beyond power points, fuse boards and lampholders, such as wiring up an electric cooker, is 23%.
  • A Registered Electrical Contractor gives the customer the original completion certificate and sends a copy to Safe Electric.

Sent from the office, paid online.

Invoices go out by email in your business’s name with the PDF. They are paid by card or bank transfer, and overdue ones are chased.
