What an invoice in Ireland shows.

  • The date it is issued, and a number in a sequence
  • Your full name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s full name and address
  • What was supplied, how much of it, and the date it was supplied
  • The price of each line before VAT, and any discount
  • The VAT rate on each line, and the VAT at each rate
  • Under the reverse charge, the sentence that says so and your customer’s VAT number, with no VAT charged

For gas installation and servicing.

  • Revenue rates servicing or repairing a boiler installed as a fixture at 13.5%. Outside RCT, a repair whose parts, such as a new PCB, cost you over two-thirds of the price before VAT is 23% in full.
  • For RCT, a council is a principal contractor. A council contract for boiler servicing alone is not RCT work. One that covers repairs as well is (Revenue’s RCT manual, Part 18-02-01).

Sent from the office, paid online.

Invoices go out by email in your business’s name with the PDF. They are paid by card or bank transfer, and overdue ones are chased.
