What an invoice in Ireland shows.

  • The date it is issued, and a number in a sequence
  • Your full name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s full name and address
  • What was supplied, how much of it, and the date it was supplied
  • The price of each line before VAT, and any discount
  • The VAT rate on each line, and the VAT at each rate
  • Under the reverse charge, the sentence that says so and your customer’s VAT number, with no VAT charged

For air conditioning and heat pumps.

  • Since 1 January 2025, a heat pump heating system supplied and installed by the same business is 9%, in a home or any other building. Supplied without fitting, a heat pump is 23% (Revenue).
  • Servicing or repairing a fitted heat pump or air conditioning unit is 13.5%. Revenue’s 9% is for supplying and installing a heat pump heating system, not for servicing one.
  • For a principal contractor, installing or repairing an air conditioning or heat pump system is RCT work, and swapping a compressor or board is a repair. Servicing alone is not (Revenue’s RCT manual).

Sent from the office, paid online.

Invoices go out by email in your business’s name with the PDF. They are paid by card or bank transfer, and overdue ones are chased.
