What an invoice in Ireland shows.

  • The date it is issued, and a number in a sequence
  • Your full name, address and VAT registration number
  • Your customer’s full name and address
  • What was supplied, how much of it, and the date it was supplied
  • The price of each line before VAT, and any discount
  • The VAT rate on each line, and the VAT at each rate
  • Under the reverse charge, the sentence that says so and your customer’s VAT number, with no VAT charged

For kitchens and bathrooms.

  • Plumbing in a dishwasher or a washing machine is 23%, even one the customer bought, as Revenue lists both as fittings.
  • A stage payment when the units are delivered is part of the one supply of the kitchen, so it takes the whole supply’s rate, not the rate of the goods alone.
  • Revenue names fitting kitchens and bathrooms among the work that completes a new or refurbished building, which makes it RCT work for a principal contractor.

Sent from the office, paid online.

Invoices go out by email in your business’s name with the PDF. They are paid by card or bank transfer, and overdue ones are chased.
