Police response to a monitored intruder alarm needs a URN from the local force. That reference and the alarm receiving centre’s account number can each have a field of your own On every site.

- Is NSI or SSAIB approval checked when I book a job?
- No. There is no NSI or SSAIB record in the office, and no kind of work it sets up for alarms asks for a registration. Only a company approved by NSI or SSAIB, and listed with the local force, may offer a system with police response (NPCC).
- What VAT does it put on alarm work?
- From a VAT-registered firm, alarm work and monitoring go out at 20%, for a Principal contractor too. The alarm and CCTV kinds of work have Construction work unticked, so they are never reverse charged and no CIS is recorded on them. An alarm supplied to a disabled person for their own use is zero rated where they can work it to call a named person or a control centre. That alarm’s line can be marked Zero rated.
- Can it bill monitoring every month?
- No. There is no recurring invoice. A monitoring fee can be billed on its own from New invoice on Money, with no job behind it.
